Circular Futures: Next Gen draws together professors and students from the fields of architecture with the aim to provoke thought and spark positive change.
This exhibition demonstrates the future of sustainability, emerging technologies and potential solutions, providing options for a more sustainable future.
A focal point of this exhibition is a novel initiative to fuse design and technology with the Recycle N Save initiative, a joint initiative by F&N Foods and the National Environment Agency. The Recycle N Save initiative encourages Singaporeans to adopt a more eco-conscious lifestyle by recycling their used plastic drink bottles and aluminium drink cans through reverse vending machines around Singapore.

The work shown in this exhibition pushes the boundaries of sustainable design and addresses how we can better approach environmental concerns. It provides potential solutions for the damage caused by human impact on this Earth and projects new possibilities for living in the future. The exhibition explores how sustainable design can be beautiful and proves that embracing environmental constraints does not prevent designers and architects from generating novel ideas.
AIRLAB solves the plastic waste consuming our planet using digital design and advanced manufacturing techniques to upcycle waste into beautiful artefacts. At the same time, formAxioms create new speculative ecologies to deal with climate change, specifically rising sea levels, an important priority for Singapore and other countries.
This exhibition has been curated and developed by Artacia Art.
Create awareness about single-use plastic and the impact of plastic pollution
Highlight how we can achieve a circular future with the 3R principles: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
Showcase the potential of new technologies in enabling a circular economy
Promote innovative designs and artworks that use sustainable materials and technology
Push boundaries of social and artistic collaborations to spark conversations and ignite change
AIRLAB is a multidisciplinary Research Laboratory that works in the space between Architecture, Science, Arts, and Digital Design and Manufacturing. We explore new technologies, materials, and workflows from ideation to fabrication, to redefine and improve how we design, build, and utilise resources.
By combining Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) with Parametric Design, we envision to minimize the use of material, reduce wastage, increase performance, and generate new aesthetics in Architectural Design.
formAxioms was established as a research framework, agency and teaching cluster.
The laboratory promotes research on space, selfhood, performance, art, planetary structures, and economy-ecology. It produces physical-digital dyads integrating platform-design, block-chain, VR/AR/XR in its pipeline.
With digital models and computational tools, the lab prototypes spaces-interfaces-infrastructures for trans-subjective and collaborative-participatory operations, working to re-discover the emancipatory potential of art and design.
Artacia Art is a curative studio that partners with local and international artists to explore and promote digital art, by connecting artists, technologists, organisations, and society. We work with organisations to foster creativity, and create social impact.

The Circular Futures: Next Gen is an inspirational exhibition that showcases how Digital Design and Additive Manufacturing Technologies can positively transform our world. Layer by layer, over 250kg of plastic waste has been 3D printed into upcycled chandeliers, decorative wall lattices, seats, and even vertical and floating farms to increase Singapore's resilience.
